Green Bird Action Soars Out of Taipei, Blue Prepares to Counter with Street Lectures in 22 Counties and Cities

Reported about 1 year ago

On June 8, 2024, the Kuomintang and People First Party jointly passed the parliamentary reform bill in the third reading, triggering civilian Green Bird Action outside the Legislative Yuan. The Executive Yuan proposed a reconsideration, escalating the pro and con actions to the second stage. The Democratic Progressive Party plans to take the Green Bird out of Taipei for a three-day nationwide lecture starting next Monday, beginning in Hualien on the 14th targeting KMT Legislative caucus convener Fu Kun-chi. The KMT responded with a counter-strategy in 22 counties and cities to explain the necessity of parliamentary reform. The opinions surrounding the parliamentary reform are dividing both the ruling and opposition parties, extending the battleground to the streets.
