Green Councilors Criticize New Taipei City for Misusing Development Fees

Reported 7 months ago

New Taipei City has collected around 22.5 billion NT dollars in development fees since 2021, but only spent 1.7 billion NT dollars on buying public land, leading Green Party councilor Zhang Wei-Qian to question the city government's priorities. Zhang criticized the city for focusing on capital operations instead of acquiring public facilities, pointing out that the current system needs to be reevaluated to ensure that government land resources are appropriately used for public construction and development purposes.
