Recently, green lizards have been frequently seen wandering around the Pingtung East Liuqiu Line Pier, raising concerns that they may sneak onto Xiao Liuqiu Island and disrupt the local ecosystem. Worried residents have captured these lizards and handed them over to the authorities. Ferry personnel are vigilant about closing gates when docking to prevent lizards from sneaking on board. Due to the proximity of the pier to the ferry terminal in Donggang, people fear the lizards may migrate to Xiao Liuqiu, prompting increased efforts to safeguard against their intrusion and potential ecological impact on the island.
