Grocery Inflation Eases, but Meat Prices Continue to Rise

Reported 28 days ago

In August, grocery prices in the U.S. increased by just 0.9% year-over-year, marking the lowest rate of growth since June 2021. While food prices overall rose by 2.1%, costs associated with dining out surged by 4%. Meat prices, especially for beef and eggs, are still on the rise, with egg prices skyrocketing by 28.1%. The inflation in grocery prices appears to be stabilizing, contrasting with the ongoing increases in restaurant prices.
