Reported 9 months ago

Dubbed as the ‘guardian doctor,’ Lin Shengzhang, the head of Kaohsiung’s Happiness Clinic, was accused of allowing a nurse without a medical license to provide medical care and prescribe medication, resulting in an alleged fraudulent receipt of NT$28,409 in National Health Insurance fees from 2014 to 2016. In the second instance, both Lin and the nurse were acquitted of violating the Physicians Act. Lin expressed gratitude for the justice clearing his name, mentioning his recent selection as the team doctor for the Paris Olympics national team. Lin, known for providing medical care to elite athletes, had faced allegations of instructing the nurse to conduct medical appointments and prescribe medication. The court determined lack of evidence of wrongdoing, resulting in the reversal of the guilty verdicts.
