In New Taipei City, on the morning of June 26, 2024, a building contractor's hospitality facility on Section 1 of Zhongxing Road in Xindian District was shot at 17 times in broad daylight. The incident caused panic among nearby residents, with video footage being uploaded online. The shooter, a bald man in his 26, fired multiple shots and later turned himself in at the Bitan Police Station. Initial investigations revealed a modified handgun was used, along with the discovery of 17 empty shell casings and one unfired bullet. The shooter's affiliation with the Bamboo Union Gang and the motive behind the shooting are still under police investigation, with suspicions of a retaliation action against a rival gang.
