The director of the Tainan Fisheries Association, Lin Shijie, was shot dead in front of his home around 5 a.m. on July 8, 2024. The perpetrator, with a meticulous plan, immediately fled the scene after the murder and set fire to a car in a parking lot on Xinjian Road 10 minutes later to destroy evidence. Police have found a suspected weapon used in the crime in the burned vehicle, but the case details are still under investigation.
