Following President Lai Ching-te's statement that 'both sides of the strait are not subordinate to each other,' mainland China has been making frequent military threats. Former legislator Guo Zhengliang recently claimed that 'Lai Ching-te regards China as a paper tiger,' speculating that for future elections, they are betting that the Chinese Communist Party won't dare to attack Taiwan. In response, Wu Zijia, the chairman of the Beautiful Island Electronic News, criticized this approach, questioning if it's indirectly encouraging an attack from the mainland. Wu Zijia believes that politicians like Lai Ching-te and Guo Zhengliang are using cross-strait and US-China relations for domestic consumption, rather than offering solutions to the CCP issue.
