Hackers Demand Up to $5 Million From Snowflake Clients

Reported about 1 year ago

Cybercriminals are demanding payments ranging from $300,000 to $5 million from around 10 companies breached in a targeted campaign aimed at Snowflake Inc. customers. The hackers are using stolen login details to access Snowflake accounts, with a hacking group known as UNC5537 responsible for the attack. The group is attempting to extort money from Snowflake's clients by threatening to auction their stolen data on illegal online forums. It has been reported that illicit data brokers are now seeking higher prices for the stolen data, potentially to pressure affected firms into paying a ransom.
