The Han Guang Exercise 40 is set to kick off on July 22 for five days with significant reforms, including the elimination of the 'Red Army' role as attackers for the first time, operation without time restrictions, and expanding exercise locations beyond the barracks. Key parts of the exercise will also take place at night and possibly extend into the early morning. This year's exercise will focus on real combat scenarios, real-time operations, and realistic training, emphasizing the Blue Army's mobility and omitting scripted demonstrations to showcase authentic military readiness and dedication to national defense.
