On June 29, 2024, at 6:36 PM, 23 students from Dong Hwa University spent less than a week during their summer break to complete three frame-skin canoes and held a special launching ceremony where they successfully sailed on the water. Led by a handcraft shipbuilding instructor, the students enjoyed the team effort of creating these canoes, turning DIY into DIT (Do It Together). Following traditional rituals like the bottle-throwing ceremony and wishing for safe voyages, this unique experience allowed them to embrace imperfections and enjoy the teamwork required while paddling the canoes. These handmade canoes symbolize the dreams of different generations sailing forward bravely on the water.
