On June 23, 2024, at 7:19 a.m., A.P.C. Quilts presented their 25th patchwork cushion named DAVIDE priced at NT$9,000. Since 2010, A.P.C. designer Jean Touitou has collaborated with textile artist Jessica Ogden, introducing A.P.C. Quilts, now in its 13th year. The recent 25th design draws inspiration from a small island in the Sicilian Strait of the Mediterranean, with whimsical names resembling outer space, capturing the essence of this scorching summer. Jessica Ogden, originally from Jamaica and a UK designer, gained recognition at London Fashion Week for her work involving upcycling and reassembling old clothes. The entire collection is designed by Jessica Ogden and handmade using traditional stitching techniques. The collaboration between Jean Touitou and Jessica Ogden began due to their mutual interest in patchwork, and from using A.P.C. stock fabrics, they've created blankets, pillows, and bedding, all popular with consumers to this day. The recent 25th design series features 8 patchwork blankets and 4 patchwork cushions with a Southern Italian vibe, each named after villages in Pantelleria island. Jean Touitou mentioned, 'There are many local names on this island that sound magical, most of them not in Italian, like Nika, Kama, etc. These villages with quirky names are like Mars on this island! When I go to Kama for bread or to Nika to plant oranges, there is always a fun sense of heading to outer space.'
