Health Officials Strongly Endorse RSV Vaccinations for Older Americans

Reported 9 months ago

US health officials have strengthened their endorsement of RSV vaccinations for individuals aged 75 and older, with a narrower recommendation for those aged 60 to 74. The CDC director accepted the updated guidance from an advisory committee, aiming to clarify the previous lukewarm recommendation that led to low vaccination rates among older Americans. Despite concerns about side effects and duration of protection, the committee voted to recommend RSV shots for those 75 and older, and for high-risk individuals aged 60 to 74.
