As the wind shifts to southwest today, the moisture increases gradually with the likelihood of brief showers or thunderstorms in central and southern Taiwan, especially south of Yunlin and Chiayi. The Meteorological Bureau has issued a high-temperature alert for 15 counties and cities where temperatures could reach 36 degrees or higher. Meteorologist Wu Derong warns of extreme heat conditions until next week with temperatures ranging from 23 to 38 degrees, advising precautions against sunburn and heatstroke. Afternoon thunderstorm risks with heavy rain and possible severe thunderstorms are highlighted, urging vigilance against flash flooding, landslides, and debris flow, particularly in mountainous areas.
