The Central Weather Bureau issued heatwave alerts for 17 cities and counties in Taiwan, with orange warning signals for areas like Taipei City, New Taipei City, and Taoyuan City, indicating the possibility of temperatures hitting 36 degrees or higher. Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Changhua County, Yunlin County, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County, Hualien County, and Taitung County were under orange alerts, while places like Keelung City, Hsinchu County, Chiayi City, and Yilan County were under yellow alerts. The highest temperature recorded today was 39.9 degrees in Kaohsiung's Qijin District. Residents are advised to take precautions and stay hydrated during the heatwave.
