Heatwave Alert with Temperatures Reaching 37 Degrees to Prevent Heatstroke, Afternoon Mountain Areas to Beware of Thunderstorms

Reported 8 months ago

Today, various regions are experiencing high temperatures, with the Central Weather Bureau issuing heat warnings for 16 counties and cities. Yunlin County's Nan Gaitou Nan Station has recorded a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius, while Taipei City issued its first heatwave advisory of the year and activated the heatwave early warning system. Due to daytime heating, convective development is strong in the afternoon, leading to the likelihood of heavy rain in mountainous areas and brief thunderstorms in central Taiwan, Greater Taipei, Yilan, and Hualien flatlands. Measures are being taken to mitigate the negative effects of the heat, reminding people to take precautions against sun exposure and ensure indoor ventilation to prevent heat injuries.
