Meteorologist Wu Shengyu warns of increasing temperatures and thunderstorms in Taiwan as summer approaches, with highs expected to reach 37 degrees Celsius over the weekend. Due to the unstable environment caused by a lingering frontal system over the northern sea, heavy rains are likely in some areas during the day. The Taiwan Central Weather Bureau predicts hot and humid conditions with temperatures exceeding 36 degrees Celsius in various locations, especially in mountainous and northern regions. As the Pacific high pressure system strengthens, the frontal system is expected to shift northward, providing more summer-like weather conditions. Despite a more stable atmosphere, local thunderstorms and high temperatures present a risk of heat-related illnesses, urging outdoor enthusiasts to take precautions.
