As a warm air mass affects Taiwan for the fifth consecutive day, temperatures have reached record highs in various regions, including over 36 degrees in Taitung, Hualien, and Taipei, with some areas hitting over 40 degrees. While most of Taiwan will experience sunny mornings today, afternoon showers are expected in central mountainous regions and the northeast coast due to heat convection, easing by nightfall. The warm air mass will persist for another 5 days, with temperatures staying around 35 to 36 degrees, leading to the possibility of thunderstorms and heavy rain, particularly in southern Taiwan during the afternoons for the next 5 days.
