According to Wu Derong, an associate professor in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at National Central University, Taiwan will be experiencing extreme heat conditions due to warm air masses and high-pressure systems in the Pacific Ocean, with temperatures reaching 36 to 38 degrees Celsius in various regions. Additionally, a cold front approaching will bring unstable atmospheric conditions, leading to thunderstorms with risks of lightning, strong winds, heavy rains, and hail in mountainous areas spreading to some plains. Precautions against heat-related illnesses, sunburn, and flash floods are advised in the coming days.
