With the Pacific high pressure strengthening, the next two days, especially in the Greater Taipei Basin and Southern inland areas, are predicted to reach the peak of extreme heat. The regions are expected to experience temperatures over 37 degrees Celsius, while other areas will also be hot, reaching above 33 degrees. Relief may come in the form of afternoon thunderstorms in the mountainous areas of central and southern regions. The heatwave is expected to ease slightly on Sunday as high-pressure weakens, increasing the chances of afternoon thunderstorms.
