According to Meteorologist Wu Derong from SET News, the highest temperatures in Taiwan are expected to reach around 36 to 39 degrees in various regions. The forecast indicates that a high-pressure system over the Pacific Ocean will lead to hot and sunny weather with temperatures as high as 36 to 38 degrees, prompting precautions against sunburn and heatstroke. However, localized brief showers or thunderstorms are still possible in mountainous areas due to convective development, so precautions against lightning, strong winds, and heavy rain are advised. Temperatures for today are estimated to range from 26 to 38 degrees in the north, 25 to 38 degrees in the central region, 26 to 38 degrees in the south, and 25 to 36 degrees in the east. Residents are advised to stay prepared for the heatwave and potential thunderstorms in the coming days.
