According to the Central Weather Bureau, a heavy rain alert has been issued for 13 cities and counties including areas north of Hsinchu, southern regions, Hualien, Miaoli to Nantou, and mountainous areas of Yilan, with the possibility of localized heavy rain. Residents are advised to be alert for thunderstrikes, strong gusts, and potential hazards like landslides, falling rocks, and sudden rise in river water levels.
