According to Yahoo News, the Central Weather Bureau issued a heavy rain alert, warning of strong convective cloud development and the possibility of localized heavy rain in areas north of Hsinchu, Nantou, Miaoli, and mountainous regions in central Taiwan today. They advised caution against lightning, strong gusts, landslides, falling rocks, and flash floods. Immediate thunderstorm messages were issued for Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taichung City, Changhua County, Nantou County, Yunlin County, and Chiayi County among others. Specific alerts were also issued for certain rivers in New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, and Taichung City. The Bureau warned of thunderstorms, lightning, intense rainfall, strong gusts, and hail, potentially leading to flash floods in rivers and poor drainage areas, affecting outdoor activities and visibility on the roads, and posing risks of landslides, rockfalls, and debris flows in mountainous regions.
