According to TTV News on June 17, 2024, at 7:26 PM, the Central Weather Bureau stated that a front was approaching the northern Taiwan sea area today (18th), leading to cloudy skies with occasional sunshine in various places. Due to daytime heating, thunderstorms may develop in northern and central Taiwan, Yilan, Hualien, and other mountainous areas. A heavy rain alert was issued for Keelung's northern coastline, including Keelung City and New Taipei City, with temperatures ranging from 32 to 34 degrees Celsius. Additionally, Taiwan released a high-temperature special alert, marked as an 'orange light,' while the UV index reached a 'dangerous level,' requiring sun protection and adequate hydration when going outdoors.
