On June 29, 2024, in Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture, Japan, heavy rains triggered mudslides that damaged six buildings in a residential area. Luckily, no injuries were reported. Residents were evacuated, and a woman in her 50s narrowly escaped harm as mud entered her house, destroying the living room and bathroom. The mudslides also affected nearby railway tracks, causing a train to halt, but all passengers were unharmed. The ongoing rain in Nara Prefecture has led to safety concerns in the region.
