Heavy Rain Causes Suspension of Ground Operations at Songshan Airport, Some Flights Likely Delayed

Reported about 1 year ago

Due to heavy rain in Taipei, Songshan Airport temporarily suspended ground operations starting at 12:53, leading to possible delays for some flights. The Civil Aeronautics Administration advises passengers and those picking up passengers to pay attention to flight changes and to contact airlines if there are any flight issues. The impact of the suspension will also affect airports with flights to and from Songshan Airport during this period, causing delays in departure and arrival times. The Weather Bureau warns of brief thunderstorms in the afternoon in central and southern Taiwan, the greater Taipei area, and other mountainous regions, with a chance of localized heavy rain in the southern and northern mountainous areas. Temperatures are expected to range from 33 to 35 degrees Celsius, with a chance of localized temperatures reaching 36 to 37 degrees Celsius in the Taipei Basin, central and southern Taiwan, near mountainous areas in Yilan, and the Hualien Taitung Rift Valley. UV radiation will be strong around noon, so outdoor activities should be accompanied by sufficient hydration and sun protection measures.
