The Central Weather Bureau in Taiwan has issued heavy rain warnings for 12 counties and cities in the northern region, including Taipei, Taichung, and Nantou, due to the intensification of rain. Areas like Nantou and Hsinchu are expected to experience localized heavy or torrential rain. Residents are advised to be cautious of thunder, strong gusts of wind, potential landslides in mountainous areas, and flash flooding. Specific alerts have also been issued for thunderstorms in certain areas, warning of heavy rain, lightning, strong winds, hail, and rising water levels in rivers and streams. The warnings are expected to last until 6:15 pm. Additionally, the national warning system has issued alerts for potential flooding in specific river basins in New Taipei City and Taichung City's mountainous regions. Overall, Hsinchu and Nantou are under torrential rain warnings, while areas like Keelung, Taipei, Taoyuan, and many others are under heavy rain alerts.
