As the rainy season front moves northward, heavy rains are forecasted for western and eastern Japan in the next two days, potentially leading to landslides, flooding in low-lying areas, and river overflows. Regions like Kyoto and Niigata may experience heavy rain warnings, requiring visitors to stay updated on weather alerts. Due to the unstable atmospheric conditions, thunderstorms are predicted in some coastal areas causing concerns for landslides, flooding, and river overflow in Kansai region. Various incidents have been reported, such as campers being rescued in Nagano, interruption of train services in JR East region, and partial train suspension in Yamaguchi and Okayama areas. Rainfall estimates in different regions range from 120 to 200 millimeters. Alerts for heavy rains have been issued in Hiroshima, Fukui, Niigata, and Kyoto prefectures.
