Xindian, New Taipei City, experienced heavy rainfall with 97 mm of rain, leading to flooding on Yongye Road. The thunderstorms also disrupted Taipei Metro's Wenhu Line signals and temporarily halted ground operations at Songshan Airport, affecting 10 flights. The Central Weather Bureau issued heavy rain warnings for 16 counties and cities, with Xindian facing particularly severe thunderstorms, resulting in flooded roads, rockfalls, and overflowing streams. Residents described the thunder as so intense that it shook doors, with some hearing thunder for the first time in their 60s and finding it terrifying. The rainstorms caused multiple incidents in Xindian, with streets turning into small rivers or waterfalls due to inadequate drainage.
