High Accuracy of 95%: AI Understands Cats' Pain

Reported about 1 year ago

Many cat owners struggle to determine their cats' health status from their expressions. A study from a Japanese university found that over 70% of elderly cats suffer from arthritis or pain, but only 2% receive medical treatment because owners are unaware of their cats' pain. Now, an AI solution has been developed through a collaboration between a startup company and a Japanese university's veterinary department. By analyzing facial expressions using AI and data from 6000 cat photos, the system can assess a cat's health condition with a 95% accuracy rate, aiding owners in detecting various types of pain early and encouraging timely vet visits.
