A 58-year-old man in China, weighing only 56 kg, was diagnosed with extremely high blood lipids, 40 times above normal levels, due to his love for fatty foods. Despite his normal weight, his high lipid levels caused symptoms like loss of appetite, numbness in hands, dizziness, and nausea. The man's blood was found to be highly viscous, impacting circulation to vital organs, but treatment successfully normalized his condition. This case highlights that high blood lipids can be caused by factors beyond obesity, including genetics, medication, unhealthy lifestyle, metabolic disorders, kidney syndromes, and diabetes.
