Lin Mingzuo, a top official at the Criminal Investigation Bureau in Taichung city, has had his detention extended until September due to his alleged involvement with a gambling group. Facing charges of corruption and collusion with the gambling syndicate, Lin has been in custody for two months, with prosecutors revealing that accomplices are still on the run. Investigations suggest Lin used his position to maintain close ties with the gambling group, leading to a series of searches resulting in the seizure of large amounts of cash and suspicious funds. With accomplices still at large, prosecutors successfully obtained a court approval to extend Lin's detention to the end of September.
