High Risk of Summer Outdoor Work and Air Conditioning Operation in New Taipei, Special Inspection Launched

Reported about 1 year ago

On June 30, 2024, the New Taipei City Government's Public Works Bureau announced that the construction on the Danbei Road has been progressing, with the completion of adjustments and construction of barriers on Danjin Road and Section 1 of Zhongzheng East Road. To accommodate the construction of the elevated bridge piers within the Guandu Bridge ramp, starting from July 3, the city government will make adjustments to the Danbei 2B motorcycle lane next to the Guandu Bridge in the Tamsui direction. Road users are advised to drive cautiously and follow original routes or detour to Mingquan Road Lane 92. The Danbei Road project aims to alleviate traffic congestion on Route 2 and redirect traffic flow, ultimately resolving current traffic bottlenecks. Due to geographical limitations and to avoid encroaching on the river's water area, the Danbei Road will veer towards the mountain side at the Christ's College section of Route 2, utilizing the innermost lane space to install the elevated bridge. The Bureau emphasizes that the construction of the main elevated bridge adopts cantilever construction method, which will shorten the construction period, reduce labor costs, and achieve construction automation. Despite maintaining existing driving routes after the adjustment, road users are reminded to drive slowly through the construction area, pay attention to road conditions, and follow on-site personnel guidance.
