High Temperature Alert in Eastern Taiwan with Rain Expected in 3 Regions

On June 15th, the temperature at the Lu Ye weather station in Taitung soared to 40.1 degrees Celsius, prompting the Central Weather Bureau to issue a high-temperature alert for 2 counties on June 16th. They also warned of brief thunderstorms in the northern and northeastern regions as well as other mountainous areas. The forecast for today includes localized showers in parts of the west in the morning, decreasing rain in the central and southern regions, possible heavier rain in Kinmen and Matsu due to their proximity to the front, and a chance of thunderstorms in the north, northeast, and mountainous areas in the afternoon. Taitung county is under an orange high-temperature alert while Hualien county is under a yellow alert with temperatures potentially reaching 36 degrees Celsius. Citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, stay hydrated, protect from the sun, and prevent heat injuries.
