On June 14, 2024, Taipei and eastern Taiwan experienced temperatures up to 36 degrees. Today, southwest winds continue to influence Miaoli and southward with occasional brief showers or thunderstorms, especially in the morning. Taipei may experience localized thunderstorms in the afternoon, with temperatures reaching around 32-35 degrees and possibly higher, resulting in a perceived temperature of 42 degrees. The Central Weather Bureau has issued high-temperature warnings for 4 regions, advising precautions against extreme heat and scorching winds in southeastern Taiwan. Taipei, New Taipei, and Hualien are placed under yellow alerts, while Taitung under orange alert, indicating extreme temperatures. The weather remains hot and humid across the country, so sun protection and hydration are recommended. Further changes in weather patterns are predicted, with increased rainfall expected in some areas.
