In the scorching heat with a temperature of 31 degrees but a 'feels like' temperature of 35 degrees in Pingtung, a man collapsed on the roadside suspected to be a victim of heatstroke and was pronounced dead after emergency CPR and hospital treatment. The exact cause of death, whether it was heatstroke-related, is still under investigation by authorities. Similar high-temperature incidents have been occurring across Taiwan due to the influence of the Pacific high-pressure system.
