The Central Weather Bureau in Taiwan has issued a weather update indicating that the Pacific high-pressure system will bring clear to partly cloudy skies with temperatures ranging from 31 to 36 degrees across the island due to weak southerly winds. High temperature warnings have been issued for 10 counties and cities where temperatures may exceed 36 degrees, prompting meteorologist Wu Derong to advise precautions against sun exposure and heatstroke. Thunderstorms are forecasted for parts of northern Taiwan, Yilan, Hualien, and mountainous regions, particularly during the afternoon. Central and southern Taiwan, including Taoyuan, may experience temperatures exceeding 36 degrees, with some areas under an orange alert while others are under a yellow alert, urging residents to be vigilant. Wu Derong further warns of potential localized thunderstorms in nearby mountainous areas. This weather pattern is expected to continue until Sunday, stressing the importance of sun protection and heat prevention measures.
