High Temperature Warnings in 11 Counties and Cities! Chance of Taipei Breaking 40 Degrees? What Meteorological Enthusiasts Say

Reported about 1 year ago

Sweating profusely! Today (5th) is still hot due to the influence of the Pacific high pressure system, with temperatures ranging from 32 to 35 degrees across Taiwan, especially in areas north of Taoyuan and the central and southern regions, with a probability of reaching 36 and 37 degrees locally. Meteorological enthusiasts from 'Teacher Lin's Weather Station' mentioned that this year's heat arrived unusually early, with temperatures continuously soaring every day. They are questioning whether Taipei has a chance to surpass the 39.7-degree temperature recorded four years ago or even exceed 40 degrees. The Central Weather Bureau has issued a high-temperature special alert for 11 counties and cities, including Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taichung City, Changhua County, Yunlin County, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, and Pingtung County, with an orange warning for a probability of consecutive temperatures above 36 degrees, and a yellow warning for Taoyuan City and Chiayi City. The bureau advises avoiding unnecessary outdoor activities, applying sunscreen, staying hydrated, and preventing heat-related illnesses, while also indicating that most areas will experience sunny to partly cloudy and hot weather, with a high chance of brief thunderstorms in mountainous areas and plains south of Chiayi.
