The Japanese yen continues to depreciate, breaking below 161 yen against the US dollar on June 28. Taiwan Bank revealed a historical sweet exchange rate with the yen selling at '0.2055' in the morning, enticing travelers heading to Japan. With 100,000 TWD, one could exchange for over 3,500 extra JPY compared to rates in January, enticing many to take advantage of the opportunity. The yen depreciating over 161 yen per US dollar at the start of the day led to concerns about Tokyo intervening in the forex market. Currency traders calculated that with 100,000 TWD, one could gain an extra 35,559 JPY by exchanging today's rate compared to January, making the deal more enticing.
