On the first day of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, public highways in Taiwan have recorded a traffic volume of 2.3 times the daily average, totaling an estimated 118 million vehicle kilometers. The National Freeway Bureau has identified 9 congested routes, urging travelers to plan their trips carefully. Traffic congestion is expected on various highways, particularly in the southern direction of National Freeways 1, 3, and 5. Special traffic management measures are in effect, including lane closures, toll suspension, and alternative routes. Travelers are advised to start their journeys during off-peak hours to avoid traffic jams.
