On the first day of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the National Expressway Bureau estimated a surge of travelers on various southbound lanes of the highways, notably on National Highway 5. While overall road conditions were relatively normal nationwide, some congestion was reported in certain areas with heavy traffic volume. The Bureau predicted key congested sections for the day, with recommendations for departure times to avoid peak traffic. Various traffic management measures and alternative routes were also put in place to ease congestion during the holiday period.
