Honda has announced a 7% drop in profit for the nine-month period ending December, coinciding with the cessation of discussions to merge operations with Nissan. While Honda's motorcycle division performed well, vehicle sales in China and Japan dipped, although demand in the U.S. remained robust. The total profit for this period stood at 805 billion yen ($5 billion), a decrease from the previous year's 869.6 billion yen, despite a nearly 9% increase in sales to 16.3 trillion yen ($106 billion).
