Honda Motor will begin selling a micro-sized electric van aimed at Japan's delivery industry in October, with a range of 245 km. The vehicle will be classified as a 'kei' vehicle, popular in Japan for their low power and tax rates. This move by Honda follows plans to introduce an electric kei passenger car next year. The market for micro kei vehicles is growing, with Mitsubishi Motors having recently relaunched its own small commercial van, Minicab EV, and Toyota having delayed the release of a similar vehicle following a safety test scandal.
