Hong Kong IPO Fundraising Decreases by 40% According to KPMG

On June 18, 2024, international accounting firm KPMG released a report predicting that Hong Kong's IPO fundraising for the whole year would decrease by 40% from an initial estimate of HKD 100 billion to HKD 60 billion. KPMG expects 70 to 80 new IPOs in Hong Kong in 2024, down from the initial projection of 90. The market has seen 27 new IPOs in the first half of 2024, collectively raising HKD 11.6 billion, reflecting a 15% decrease in quantity and a 35% decrease in fundraising compared to the previous year.
