A man in Hong Kong has been formally charged by the National Security Department for continuously writing 'seditious' phrases behind the seats of several buses, with the possibility of facing up to 10 years in prison. The 29-year-old man is accused of writing incendiary phrases between March and April, inciting hatred against the Chinese central government and the Hong Kong SAR government. The specific phrases he wrote have not been disclosed by the authorities. After being arrested in Tseung Kwan O on Sunday, the man appeared in the West Kowloon Magistrates' Court this afternoon facing charges related to incitement and property damage.
