Hospital Increases Security Due to Threatening Letter Sent to Nurses by Patient

In Taichung, Taiwan, police received a report on June 19, 2024, about a suspect who had sent a threatening letter to harm hospital supervisors and nurses and intended to return for treatment. Unable to refuse medical treatment to patients, the hospital sought police assistance, with officers patrolling and stationed outside the clinic to prevent any potential violence. The suspect, who had previously made inappropriate comments to a nurse and was under close monitoring by hospital security, sent the threatening letter out of dissatisfaction. Despite being apprehended for the threat, no violence occurred during his visit due to tight security measures implemented by the hospital and police coordination.
