The Central Weather Bureau issued a heavy rain advisory this afternoon, warning of potential short-lived heavy rain in some areas, with the possibility of localized heavy rain in the mountainous areas of Taichung and Nantou today, emphasizing caution for lightning and strong gusts, with concerns about landslides and falling rocks. Meanwhile, due to the influence of southwest winds causing hot weather, Taitung County is at risk of experiencing a burning wind with temperatures hitting 36℃, while Pingtung County is on yellow alert. The weather remains unstable in the central and northern regions, Yilan, Hualien, and other mountainous areas, with a chance of brief afternoon thunderstorms. High temperatures reaching 32-35℃ are predicted, with a likelihood of burning wind in the southeast and temperatures exceeding 36℃. Sun protection and staying hydrated are recommended for outdoor activities in the hot and humid weather conditions. Additionally, Matsu and Kinmen are prone to brief showers or thunderstorms due to their proximity to the front, with a chance of localized heavy rains in Matsu, possible low clouds or fog affecting visibility, especially during travel between the two islands, and strong gusts near coastal areas north of Hsinchu. Air quality forecast shows favorable conditions due to southwest winds, except for some pollutant accumulation in the windward areas of the north, and slight visibility issues in the morning in Matsu and Kinmen. Overall, air quality ranges from 'Good' in most regions to 'Moderate' in the north. Editor: Qin Yingwen
