As the temperature continues to rise, the Central Weather Bureau issued high-temperature warnings for 13 regions today, with experts predicting that Taipei may soar above 39 degrees in the upcoming Friday and Saturday. The Pacific high-pressure system strengthening near Taiwan leads to sunny to partly cloudy skies and scorching heat across the island, with southern areas possibly experiencing temperatures over 38 degrees, while northern regions like Taipei, New Taipei, Taichung, and others may have consecutive days with temperatures above 36 degrees. Thunderstorms and heavy rain are also expected in certain areas, urging caution for residents. Air quality advisories highlight slight pollution accumulation in western regions. The extreme weather conditions are expected to last until the weekend.
