Reported 8 months ago

As Taiwan experiences a heatwave with temperatures exceeding 38 degrees, Wu Derong, a meteorological expert, forecasts that the hot and humid weather, influenced by the Pacific high pressure system, will persist for about a week with scattered thunderstorms. Areas in southern Taiwan have already reached temperatures around 38 degrees, with some regions experiencing heavy rainfall nearing 100 millimeters, leading to localized flooding. Wu warns of potential heatstroke and advises caution during the upcoming period of unstable weather, especially in mountainous regions prone to landslides and rockfalls.
