In July 2024, a group including a man surnamed Ding boldly went to Shih Hsin University for recruitment, writing 'Entering the Top Eight' on the blackboard and sharing an IG account for contact, attracting hotel hostesses on campus, labeled by netizens as the 'Top Eight Monkeys'. Although the police referred Ding and the group under the Social Order Maintenance Act, the Taipei District Court ruled no punishment as their entry onto the campus was 'peaceful'. This decision raised concerns in the police force if it was seen as encouraging disorderly behavior, stemming from a Dcard post in April about 'Top Eight Monkeys invading Shih Hsin University'.
